Home The Extra-Ordinary Workshops Coaching Meet Tricia
As a workshop leader, I draw from a number of rich sources of experience: 15 years of creating and leading workshops for leaders and teams in a variety of corporate settings, experiential training (ropes courses) facilitation, and human capacities work as a student and associate of Dr. Jean Houston. My work takes a “whole brain” approach to learning and I am committed to active learning processes where experience takes a front seat with concept and discussion. Programs guide participants through deep, experiential learning on four levels: physical/sensory, psychological, mythic/symbolic and spiritual/unitive.

Social Artistry Workshops

The Social Artist is the individual who rises to the calling and the challenge of our interesting and complex times. We see two words at play here: Social: of or having to do with human beings and their living together Artist: one who is skilled in the fine arts / one who does anything very well Social artistry, then is taking our way of living together as human beings to the level of high, creative skill.

Re-Imagining Community

Helping Communities Revision themselves for a Sustainable Future

Co-facilitated with Mike Krajovic

Our goal is to help communities prepare themselves for a future of radically shifting economic and social change.  This intensive program guides communities of all sizes to create actionable plans for a sustainable future.  These are a few of the areas addressed:

  • Strategic Questioning – What is the purpose of community?  What is the “right size” for our community?  What are the beliefs and values that are sustaining us?
  • Asset Mapping – Gaining shared understanding of strengths and planning from the place of these strengths
  • Visioning / Planning – active re-storying of community to fit the emerging, global model
  • Training stakeholders in collaborative problem solving and personal empowerment
  • Future Webbing – Creating the structure, communication network and development path for a sustainable future

Sustainable Leadership

As we face the ever-present reality that our levels of consumption are not sustainable on a long-term basis, that our actions are already impacting global climate patterns, it is not a great leap to take in stating that our ways of working, too, are not sustainable. Sustainable Leadership introduces a new approach to leading in our complex times, a model that like the living systems it models itself after, continually re-creates itself. This program is modeled around five cornerstones: holistic leadership, generative leadership, leadership of interdependence, inner and outer leadership, and whole-life leadership.

Retreats and Planning / Visioning Days

Yes, sometimes it really can be difficult to see the forest for all the trees! Sometimes we need to leave the familiar (meeting room, workplace, home or office) to find our way to new ways of seeing, ideas, and plans. We can customize your individual or organizational retreat or planning day, with careful attention to building an environment where creative expression and exploration thrive. Retreats provide opportunity to reach deeper levels of understanding and commitment as processes and activities can unfold naturally rather than under the confinement of limited time restraints and objectives.

Skilled facilitation combined with carefully crafted activities will draw out full participation from your group members. Strategic planning, idea generation sessions, annual goal setting, team building . . . whatever your objective, it will thrive when you move it out of a traditional board room setting. We'll work with you to find the location that works well for your group and create an energizing and productive day.

Storybeads

We are surrounded by stories – movies, plays, books, magazines. We love hearing them and we love telling them. Our experiences are our stories and we have powerful stories in our lives. They offer illumination and deep wisdom for crafting our future.

One of the challenges of any retreat or workshop is that of moving past the place of "good intentions," to daily practice. To help us in that process we will be developing a beautiful takeaway reminder of our learning in the form of an individually designed band of lampwork glass "story beads." At each stage of our learning we will embed our commitments in individually chosen beads, and by the end of the day we will have created a living reminder of those commitments, visions and practices, that we can wear around our wrists!
